Destination Wedding Locations: Mexico and The DR

Mexico and the Dominican Republic are some of Blue's favorite locations to send people to. Mexico is full of rich culture and gorgeous coastline, and the Dominican Republic has some of the greatest parties. All of our clients that sent to either location gushed upon return, and wanted to hop on a plane right back! If you're looking for a more exotic location for your destination wedding and are looking for definite fun, Mexico or the DR are the perfect places. Punta Cana

Punta Cana is one of Blue's favorite places to send our bride and grooms to-be. Here in the Dominican Republic, a beautifully tropical climate awaits you with an average temperature that stays around a nice 80 degrees. There are TONS of things to do in Punta Cana- where to even begin?! There are many water-type activities, such as speedboat racing and sailing, and other more adventurous activities like swimming with dolphins or exploring the reefs near island edges. Punta Cana is also full of wonderful resorts that accommodate everyone with the best service. And with tons of perfect beaches, you have almost too many options for a beautiful beach ceremony. Isla Catalina has eco tours and even underwater shipwreck museums. while Bavaro Beach offers white sand and surfing! We could go on forever, just like you feel like you could stay forever once you and your guests experience the beauty of Punta Cana.

Riviera Maya

With more than 100 miles of picture-perfect coastline, Riviera Maya is a beautiful choice for a destination wedding ceremony. With tropical jungles, ancient Mayan ruins, and the endless beaches with warm sea waves, it's a location to remember with plenty of tours or partying that cater to everyone's interests. Riviera Maya has so much to offer, with plenty of spas and shopping available for those who want to relax. For those looking for an interesting and fun learning experience, Tulum was once a Mayan port, that features tours into the mysteries of the Mayan world. An absolutely beautiful and fun-packed location for a destination wedding, Riviera Maya is the place to be.

Los Cabos

From what I've learned about Los Cabos, I think it's hard not to pick a place that has one of the biggest seasons for sea turtles in the world. From July to October is Sea Turtle Season in Los Cabos. Experiencing the miracle of nature through watching baby sea turtles hatch from nests on a beautiful beach certainly is a special event to see on your wedding day. In addition to baby turtles, Los Cabos is another location with beautiful offerings. There are plenty of adventurous things to do, like rock climbing or land sports, and a rocking Cabos night life. San Jose del Cabo is even called the Tourist Corridor, and is a 20+ mile stretch of beach and resorts to take advantage of. Los Cabos is a wonderful place for a destination wedding- not many people can say they have sea turtles in their wedding photos!

La Romana

On the Southeastern coast of the DR, there's La Romana, a stunning resort town full of rich experience. There's the highest rated golf course in the Caribbean and on the list of the top one hundred courses in the world, called Teeth of the Dog. There's an intriguing underwater museum, called the Guadalupe where guests can go snorkeling. The Rio Chavon has waterfalls too beautiful for words where you can take a romantic riverboat ride. Whether you're the bride or the guest of the big day, La Romana is a beautiful town for a destination wedding.

Puerto Vallarta

Last but not least on our list is Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Right next to the Pacific Ocean, it isn't uncommon to spot humpback whales or dolphins, giving you the possibility of awesome marine life in your photo backgrounds. There's tropical jungle in this location too, with adventures and activities to be had, like bungee jumping or ziplining. The land is filled with palm tree covered mountains For a first class wedding experience, Puerto Vallarta is an excellent choice.
